NSB X Maridee Charters

I recently finished editing a video that I shot this past Summer from an epic day offshore fishing with Maridee Charters. We hit em hard and got into schools of Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, and even got to fight and land a White Marlin that went completely arial multiple times.

The Long Wait is Over

Finally, after what felt like a life time of watching, waiting, freezing, cleaning gear, watching the ice go out, and going half mad. The Winter weather in New England has broke and Spring is in full swing. Which means one thing, fishing season is upon us and more specifically, pre-spawn. The phase in a Largemouth Bass’s annual life cycle and the time when they are most likely to be at their heaviest. It’s the time of the year when you are fired up and ready to be on the water chasing a new PB. Grinding sun up to sun down throwing big swimbaits or swinging a massive streamers in search of that one bite.

Fall Run Striped Bass Fishing

When you think Striped Bass, New England comes to mind more often than not. Aside from the winter months, the Striper fishing in Rhode Island can be pretty good for most of the year. However, it’s usually the Fall run that gets the most attention. The birds take flight and guide anglers to huge balls of bait, often being savagely attacked by schools of larger predatory fish like Stripers, Blue fish, and if your lucky, Bonito and False Albacore. On this day in particular, last October, the fish were plentiful.

New School Bass: Stripers on the Fly TBT

One thing about the East Coast that I’m excited for is Striper Fishing. Rhode Island is home to one of the countries best Striper fisheries and you better believe we will be taking full advantage of in. In the mean time, check out this throw back from the worm hatch on Salt Pond in 2013 featuring captain Zach Lapp of Ripline Charters and myself. Enjoy and stay tuned for more Striper action this Summer.

New School Bass: Rainy Day Blues

Last weekend, I hit the lake with the homie Evan (@bassfactory101) to start filming New School Bass Season II. The morning started off cold and wet, but we were stoked to be on the water. At first there was a light breeze and a heavy mist. You know, the type of rain that every time you think it’s done and take off your jacket, it starts raining again. The breeze was a little cool but nice in the way that when the breaks in rain came, everything would dry off quick. As we made our way down the shoreline, we picked apart the weeds, grass, and rocks that we came across. From there on out, we threw everything we had at them.

Throwback Thursday

Recently, I was digging through some old hard drives and found this video we made 6 years ago. The video highlights some beautiful moments fly fishing with friends on my home lake in Rhode Island. While this video is older, in 2019 we will be filming more of the NSB series on the east coast. While the bass may not be as big as what California has to offer, the fishing is great and I hope you guys will enjoy the content. For now, enjoy this piece of NSB history from years past.

New School Bass VI: Football Season

The last Two weeks, my time on the water has been limited. At first I was too busy to really notice, but after a week of no fishing, I was starting to get a little antsy. By Wednesday of week Two, I was getting texts from my good friend and fishing buddy Evan (@bassfactory101), saying the lake was on fire. He was out there catching multiple limits, 20-30 fish a day and I was stuck watching him slay from Instagram. By Friday, I couldn’t take it anymore. I cut my work week short and met him at the lake around noon.
